spring/summer 2015 Trinity. My new Louis Vuitton purchases

It has been some time since my last post. A lot has happened since. 2 runway shows..New bag launches and for me, work, work, work and more work.

Louis Vuitton boutiques in my country changed its customer policy on runway / limited edition bag purchases. Customers who are interested in these bags are "recommended" to place a deposit with the boutique, as quantities for these bags are limited, or wait for the launch date to view them. This new policy is a double edge sword.  The good news is that customers are guaranteed a bag when a deposit is placed. Once a deposit is placed, the customer is on the priority list and might get the bag earlier, sometimes even before the launch date (nice). The bad, is that, during launch date, there might be no bags for the customer who did not place a deposit (if all of them have been snapped up beforehand). This policy leaves a bad taste in my mouth because I like to see, try and touch the bag before I make a decision to purchase and not pressured to place a deposit on the bag based on pictures. SIGH!

Despite my misgiving with Louis Vuitton, I got me 3 items from them. 2 bags and 1 belt. No ready-to-wear items or shoes. They are not to my liking (apparently, I am not the only one), but that is a topic for another day.

First of, meet Cabas Jour. Its the monogram V tote bag

Cabas Jour
I am really liking this bag. Its a bit loud, with all the monograms (being made almost entirely of monogram canvas), The big blue V in the middle makes it interesting as compared to the usual totes. I use the mask luggage tag on it.. for a little bit of pop.

Interior
I think the nicest part of the tote bag is the inner lining. The dark blue (navy?) lining gives it a masculine feel as compared to the usual brown.

2015 Spring/summer men's collection
Finally, now we men have our own Runway inner tab. The women's runway bags has this stamped in them, but not the men's until recently with last year's collection. Loved it.

Next meet sundial belt from the runway show

Sundial
I love the buckle.. bright, shiny and a little ostentatious.. but fun fun fun. The leather with the yellow stitching is simply gorgeous and luxe. LVOE!

Last but not least and one of my favourite all time bag, is the new satchel.

I love this bag. All leather and understated, at least from the outside. Very roomy, big enough to put in all my work stuff and yet I can also make it smaller.and more compact with side buckles.
But, this modest looking bag hides something loud. Open it flap and U will see it.

The all monogram inner lining
The satchel inner lining is made up of monogram canvas. I love it.. Durable, easy to clean and tough monogram canvas. It is like a 2 in one bag, almost. Any spills, stains can easily be wiped off.

The all monogram interior

Ah.. runway collection tab. Nice

Here is the bag with its monogram shoulder strap. Absolutely LVOE IT!

Louis Vuitton iPad Air 2 and iPhone 5 cases

It has been some time since my last post. A lot has happened since. 2 runway shows..New bag launches and for me, work, work, work and more work.

I guess it is time for me to update U with  something I got for myself recently. An iPad Air 2 case. What? another iPad case? Let me explain.

I got me a leather Louis Vuitton iPad Air and an iPhone case quite sometime back.

The original iPad Air and iPhone case
The split
But somehow on my iPhone case,  the wax trimming splits and leather and lining came apart only after a few months. The good people at Louis Vuitton provided me with a new case, which somehow came apart also after a few months. My iPad case also exhibited similar issue.  I guess leather cases are not for me so I change them both for the canvas case. The issue is that the local store only stocks leather cases for iPad and iphone. Only recently, they introduce canvas ones. Finally.

Here they are, my iPhone and iPad case.

iPad Air 2 case in Damier Graphite

Guess what.. Both these cases have the exact same pattern as my old cases. My new iPhone 5 case is has the same design and pattern as my iPhone 4. My iPad Air 2 case has the same pattern as my old iPad 1 case. I guess if it works, better not change. LOL

Louis Vuitton Travel Messenger - Fall/Winter 2014 runway bag.

Last year was an interesting year for Louis Vuitton, in my opinion.  There has been a lot of changes in the house. In fact, there are also changes in the boutique itself. I, as a customer have felt the changes, but, that is a story for another time.

As for the bags and clothes, lots of changes too, especially in the Womens' section, with lots of new looks, and direction, the Petit Malle push, and especially the monogram iconoclast series. With all the changes and the different bags that command my attention, one of them, though, in an icy cold color, silver, managed to slowly warm my heart slowly but surely.

I first laid eyes on the bag when I watched the LV men's fall/winter runway presetation at LV website. I was told by the Sales Associate (SA) that, the bag, might not be made for retail, since, it is a showcase piece (meaning, to highlight the company's savoir faire) only. But as time goes by, I got the good news that it would be made for retail.. YIPPE!  But, it is going to be limited to 50 pieces worldwide... BUMMER! and it is going to be expensive. DOUBLE BUMMER! And worst of all, Singapore is getting only 1 bag, and the bag has been reserved for royalty! Sigh... I don't even get to see the bag in real life. Woe is we, the commoners.

But, luckily, the kind SA managed to source another bag, and showed it to me.. Yippie! But there are some scratches on it. Bummer! There goes my hope for getting one.  He managed to get one piece from Switzerland, and lo and behold, A pristine, unscratched bag.

The bag is huge, and the paper bag that holds it together is the biggest I have ever seen Lol.

Just a little teaser to highlight how big it is

Meet, the travel messenger. The bag is made of calf leather, not like the old Louis Vuitton Mirror series, nor is the treatment of the leather the same as the silver EPI twist handbag,.

There is a nice pull tab for me to store my name card.

Even the small leather bits, including the shoulder pad, is in silver.

I love the Damier detailing embossed on the bag.

Last, but not least, a modelling shot to highlight just how big the bag is.. Oh, and the straps at the bottom of the bag can be used to strap in a jacket, or blanket.
